The Regency
A SWRD starship, the Regency is a virtuous vessel using state of the art technology sparsely seen in many modern day ships. It is sleek and long, slightly smaller than a light class frigate. The ship relies on it’s smooth structure and high-powered engines, allowing for quick maneuvers, and it’s highly effective stealth shields. The latter provides nearly total invisibility for a meagre amount of time and lets the crew outwit it’s foes in combat. The engines are a prototype and are perhaps the best trait of the vessel. It’s drive cores are highly enhanced with a self-operating cooling system for sustained speed. The ship is meant to destroy enemies quickly, failure to do so would leave the crew in a distinct disadvantage. Used mostly as a dropship for the elite SWRD agents, it is also frequently sent to intercept and destroy high-value targets for the Council’s cause.
There are, in total, three entrances. Two on either side of the main hull, leading to the bridge, and one exit below the backside of the ship. The third is meant for the quick departure of it’s Marines, dropping a long platform onto the landed surface. While still in the air, the exit can also withdraw the platform to totally reveal the land below; using attached cords the Marines can hold on and lower themselves to the ground with as much speed as needed.
If one were to enter into the ship’s starboard side entrance, they would step through a small contamination chamber where oxygen modules also pump in fresh air. They’d then proceed right into the bridge itself. In the center would be the large, full-colored galaxy map featuring numerous screenings of different systems and planets, one displaying the ship’s position and course. The screenings can be arranged and shifted by hand. To the far right of your position would be a metal doorway leading to the cockpit. Inside, reinforced glass provides a clear view ahead and many blinking controls adorn a wide interface. There are two seats but only one is before the most complicating controls. By the walls are radio intercoms and emergency oxygen masks.
At the back of the bridge is another metal door revealing a long hallway with several doors on either side, with one larger door at the very end. Each side door would lead to a crew members humble quarters while the last would lead to the Captain’s. The Captain’s quarter would be richly furnished with comfortable furniture and a wide view of space on the back wall. The glass can be manipulated in vision with a remote to change the scenery; anything from a city view to a snowy tundra. In the current Captain’s case, the view frequently shows the Loch Ness lake.
A hatch at the side of the long hallway goes down to the engine room and to the Engineer and Gunner’s quarters. Further down from the core drivers, you’d find a wide room racked with weapons, space suits and armor. A metal door ahead would lead to the ship’s third exit.
On the outside, the vessel is black as night but protrudes a blue hue as light shines upon it, creating a beautiful sight. It’s wings are retractable and extend diagonally outwards. Along either side of the ship, in blue, is the long name Regency with the SWRD emblem at the corner beside it.
