Banumori

Residents of the planet Asclepius, these beings on average stand about twelve feet high. Their general appearance is hominid, though their comparative arms are spindly and thin whereas their legs are thick and powerful. To receive a kick from one of these aliens would most likely result in a crushed ribcage. Their eyes are all pearly blue, off-set by the waxy black skin surrounding them in a mask-like marking which continues on down their face to end at their dark noses. More than once, this peculiar marking that is present in all of the species has been compared to tear tracks like that of Earth's cheetah.

The skin of the Banumori are protected by a waxy covering that help keep their homeostatic balance of water. Along the throats of males is rather translucent skin that is capable of expanding usually in times of excitement, distress, and other heightened times. Atop their heads, the skin is colored a soft yellow, but it fades into a vibrant white the farther from the face one looks. Their mouths have been compared to a bird of prey's bill. Also similar to a bird of prey, they have no teeth. Their prey is peeled apart and shredded with their bills or swallowed whole.

Culturally, the Banumori are incredibly showy. As a whole, they are not easily inclined to violence. Disputes, politics, and even things of the heart are settled with intricate dances. Naturally, it is the most skilled in these dances who will climb the ladders of leadership and be respected as such. This society is neither matriarchal nor patriarchal, run equally by both genders.

Because their planet is falling to more industrialization, individuals struggling for money will often turn to slavery of other species and force them to work in the dangerous mines to help turn a profit.

Dasyati

This species is widespread throughout the Sagitta Rau system. Aquatic in nature, they have smooth, buttery leather skin that is a muted gray and is quite delicate. It can tear and scar easily, so the majority of the race can be easily identified using only the scars they've collected over their lifetime! While most at home in water where they have extensive lung modifications that allow for underwater breathing, the Dasyati are also capable of walking about the land on feet with small webbings between each of their seven toes. Their hands have only three fingers, the longest of which being the middle which can be sickle-shaped and quite deadly in and of itself. Despite this natural weapon, the Dasyati are often underestimated due to their size. At four feet tall, they hardly strike an imposing appearance to humans. These logical creatures have a way of temporarily removing emotional elements to conversations before replacing them so as to better see how to proceed with issues. Another striking characteristic of the Dasyati are the cartilaginous spike-like protrustions that curve off of their forearms and legs.

Anexim

This species native to the Fringe of Council space is by far the most wild looking in terms of human standards. They have a bug-like appearance with large, fuzzy antennae that double as ears on their heads. Not only that, they have three pairs of large, dark eyes. Further, two slits in their flat faces serve as nostrils while their mouthparts are quite jagged and have the capability of unhinging to engulf large portions of food. Besides the peculiarities of their faces, this species also has a thin body aided in flight by two pairs of wings. Axexim also have two pairs of arms and legs.

Omnivorous in nature, they can be destructive to young planets without defense against these vivacious eaters. Though the adult forms can be quite a burden, they truly have nothing on the immature larval and nymphal stages. Eggs are laid in moist vegetation or directly into a water source. Once hatched, the quickly growing larvae can eat nearly anything. They can decimate an aquatic invertebrate population if not watched carefully.

They mature quickly, reaching adulthood in only two years. By that time, the gills of their immature stages recede and they breathe strictly air. From that point on, they do not require a drop of water as they have extensive evolutionary adaptations that allow them to wick moisture from their lungs and utilize for metabolic purposes. Because of this, they are better suited to moist environments, but can survive well in dry climates, too. With a lifespan of twenty years at most, they have an incredible drive to reproduce and are therefore rarely in war.

Lourek

Highly intelligent creatures of an icy planet with the Eridanus Cluster, the Lourek are most comparable to Earth's wolves. It is a patriarchal society where one male will rule a clan and determine the needs and means to protect that clan. As their homeland is an icy tundra, their bodies are insulated with thick fur that can be up to six inches in length. Lourek are a proud race of predators that can be incredibly territorial.

Long muzzles that would look odd on one of Earth's wolves, the Lourek make room in their mouths for a set of forty four teeth. Like wolves, they have six incisors on both the top and bottom. Unlike wolves, they have four canines on the top and bottom. Sixteen premolars in total and eight molars allow for a deadly bite. Their jaw muscles rival the strength of lions. On the end of their muzzle is an overly large nose that allows them to sniff out prey hiding under deep snow.

Their eyes come in various colors, but most often a striking yellow like that of a wolf. Heavily insulated and fuzzy ears help prevent loss of body heat in the tundra landscape of their homeland. The Lourek have a set of four bony spikes that protrude from the tops of their heads and can be used to gore prey by ramming into them. Not only that, but horns about one and a half feet in length curve gracefully back before angling slightly up.

At the shoulder, the Lourek stand on average about six feet tall while their heads can be as high as nine feet. As for coloration, their fur is a rich blue with most often black vertical stripes along their backs. Their paws are enormous and each can splay about ten inches wide. The stripes continue all the way down to their lengthy, bushy tails that are used for communication amongst their clans. Each clan has a unique set of movements to help coordinate attacks within enemy ranks and still take a rival clan by surprise. Though they have methods of communicating that are non-verbal, the Lourek are also capable of speech.

Rucattan

The self-proclaimed most intelligent species in existence, these human-sized aliens seem quite harmless. With furry faces that come in various patterns and long, lemur-like tails, most people believe them to simply be fuzzy animals that can walk upright. Even their long faces, large eyes, and flat, herbivorous teeth make them seem like docile creatures. Not so! Not only are they incredibly intelligent and known for their scientific breakthroughs, but are quite skilled at handling and fashioning weapons.

The Rucattan have two sets of arms which help them navigate quickly in their homeworld of Achernar where trees are plentiful. In fact, their homes are fashioned within and amongst the trees where they have learned to live in harmony with their planet. They are the powerhouse of the Council.

Living with each other in family-like settings, the Rucattan take care of their own with fierce offensive techniques at the first sign of threat. The race as a whole sees humans as a toddler species trying to integrate themselves in an adult universe too hard for them to comprehend. Coming from the species who created the universal translaters - they have many skilled linquists - that come standard now among military forces on Earth and other planets.

Sangreto

Slender and tall, the Sangreto are akin to the horror stories one would read as a child, their limbs being slightly longer than half their body length, which comes to usually fifteen to twenty feet. Due to the space world allowing for many morphs of the body, this species is unnaturally thin and spindly, almost as light as a feather as most who encountered them would say, sleek and agile like a feline. They have almost no mass to their bodies, as if they are hollow, ribs jutting out and most of their body parts being bent at unnatural angles, this usually identifying each member of the species. Their skin is as dark as ink itself, pitch black and flakey, their quick movements usually leaving some sort of dandruff-like residue behind, making it easy to track them until they take to the trees. The Sangreto have no visible eyeballs, just hollowed sockets with bundled nerve endings at the back, constantly flickering, and it is said that if you are to stare into them, you will find out the manner of your death.

Despite their frightening appearance, the Sangreto are actually a docile species, worried and compassionate for those around them, merely wanting to find companionship, but most run away when they see them. That is why they live on the lonely planet of Nochenegro. They tend to be shy, but once you get to know one member of the species they will be loyal to the end, one of the closest friends to the humans, which often leaves them exiled from the meetings of the more hateful alien species. The Sangreto are an intellectual breed, able to memorize information through vision, hearing, touch, or taste. However, as comes with many sluggish alien species, they do have a violent trigger, and that is when their human counterpart is in danger, for they feel the same pain as that bonded human, physically and emotionally.

Much like some other ancient creatures, this species lives for quite a long time, some of the elders even considered to be nearly ancient. However most die at a young age due to the spawn not having an immune system or random predators for the mother never sticks around to care for her child, a test of survival to see if the baby is worth bringing up or not. Cruel but the only way to not waste resources. Now if they do manage to pass that the average lifespan is 5,500 to 7,200 years, basically 60-70 years in human age. 

It is known that the Sangreto have black, tar-like blood that had been cursed upon them for centuries, creatures of the damned, and that is their reminder. However if a Sangreto manages to repay his favor to the human that saved him, or does a series of good deeds that benefits their 'master', then their blood turns red, a signal that they are no longer slaves and have a choice to leave, if they so wish, which most do not. This species also has the ability to transfer the wounds of their bonded human on to themselves to protect their softer counterparts, and especially during life-threatening cases some have been known to die. Though no cost is too great when compared with the life of a precious human.
