As it sounds, this is where hundreds of thousands of slaves are housed. They are used in the most dangerous parts of the mines along with criminals. Each slave is outfitting with a thick band around their neck that can be used to detonate any who attempt to flee their forced live of servitude.

This is where the residents of Asclepius put in most of their efforts. The mines contain numerous veins of vital ores that can be used for multiple purposes including fuels and for raw materials in the building of starships. Asclepius is the number one producer of ships. These mines can be incredibly unstable and dangerous.
