Arcadius Nocturne
Arcadius' pale eyes followed her protests and gestures closely, letting her spout out all her objections. He looked back calmly with a face strong as stone. He showed neither annoyance or frustration, though his initial feelings of her were indeed lowered. In that small fraction of time, the Agent could barely differentiate the Captain from a stubborn adolescent. He believed her to be acting naive and self-centered, traits that no SWRD agent should ever possess. Sure, an agent must remain concerned for the wellbeing of his or her peers, but they must be ready to accept things as they come.
As she finished speaking, the man watched for the Sangreto's reaction. He studied the alien's face, unsure if he would spot confusion, sadness, or even frustration. He felt for the young one, and he avidly hoped the woman could soon accept him. Though his next words would not show that hope easily.
"I never asked you to accept the Sangreto. Though it would be the wise choice for you to do so. He has already created his bond with you, and it will be nearly impossible to break." He adds with a dull sarcastic tone. His strong bravado and speech is hard to overrule as he continues, "But poor you... you don't want such a responsibility on your hands."
He stares plainly to her, not minding if she meets his gaze or not. "Learn to accept situations as they come, soldier... and make the best of them. Because I guarantee you, under your future service things will not often go your way. That is a simple fact, and common knowledge to those serving in SWRD."
He finishes. Remembering what he read in her dossier given to him by the Council, he concluded, "You want to make a difference in serving the Council? Abide to the rules of life."
Arcadius admired her past experience, especially for changing the stance and chances for women within the Militia. In his admiration he revealed the hard truth to her. He wanted her to succeed.
